My name is Camilla Berntzen, and I am the person behind My Alter Ego Chihuahuas. I live with my fiancée and Chihuahuas in Oslo and Fredrikstad. I work as a Veterinary Nurse, and animals, especially dogs are a big part of my life. I got to know the breed Chihuahua when I was young, and was fascinated by the breed. Today it's not a day going by without me beeing fascinated by these tiny dogs with a wonderful temper, appearance and personality.

I got my first Chihuahua in 2005, and he started it all. Living in Hungary at that time, I got in touch with Kennel Bonaparte, which is located just outside of Budapest, owned by a veterinarian. June 29th 2005 Bonaparte Kornel was born, and 9 weeks old, we got males home. Today he is our mascot, and the main reasons why I started Kennel My Alter Ego together with Lena Berg-Jensen.

Breeding has been on my mind for a long time, and having friends that are breeders who support and help me, and Lena to share the kennel with, the dream was set in motion 2008/2009.

I have no desire to breed in large scale, only a few litters a year. Having a limited number of dogs at home, so that I can give them the attention, care and love they need as well as deserve. This means that we will have adults and puppies included in our breeding, staying with other families.

My main goal is to breed Chihuahuas with a good temper that are healthy, beautiful and breedtypical. We use well-known lines, and follow the recommendations of the Norwegian Chihuahua Club.

Getting the chance to start My Alter Ego with Lena is a dream come true! My Alter Ego, which means "the other me" is a good description of who we are and what we stand for. Although we breed two different breeds, we have the same goals and intentions, and we both have interests in both breeds, and believe that our cooperation will benefit both breeds. Thank you Lena! We wanted an international name, that had a meaning related to our breeds. For us My Alter Ego represents both Chihuahua and Miniature Pinscher, and what they mean in our lives.
